Articles, Directories and Marketing

Why would someone want to submit articles to an article directory? This article will look at a few of the reasons and perhaps you can think of even more!

Articles are the backbone of the mass amount of knowledge available on the internet today and they were all written by someone. Now, some of the content you find on the internet and various blogs are nothing more than content that was purchased (or perhaps even stolen) and then pasted into the website.

When people use PLR (Private Label Content) in this way, they are defeating the purpose of purchasing it. When adding articles or content of any type, for that matter, to your own website you want it to be unique. By adding unique content, you are enhancing your search engine status. Search engines want fresh, new, original content to add to their listings. That is part of the reason you are starting to see the link below searches done on Google and yaho that say there are other similar content available. These are usually just more posts of the same content.

Why would you want to have original content on your website? The biggest benefit is you will become known as an authority on the topic(s) of your writings. If you create a short story for example, you become known as an author. The more stories you write, the more well known you become because people read your stories and then tell their friends and they read them and so on.

This is the basis of what toady's marketers call Viral Advertising. It is nothing more than rebranding the best marketing approach available - Word of Mouth! WoM advertising has been around for many years and it can be either the absolute best or worst type of advertising there is. It depends on your product or service and how the customer felt. If they had a bad experience, then the referral will probably be negative.

Now why did I bring up Advertising? Because Article Marketing and Article Directories are just that! A method to get YOUR content in front of people that probably would never see it otherwise. And the best part? Once your content has been accepted, it remains out there on the Web for many months or even years in some directories! So whenever someone goes to that site and searches for your content, there is YOUR article, complete with a link to your website or product!
